Welcome to my portfolio. I cover the Baltimore Orioles for The Baltimore Sun after more than a year covering Oklahoma State University athletics, primarily football, basketball and baseball, for The Oklahoman. I’m a 2017 graduate of OSU, having earned degrees in sports media and sports management with a minor in marketing.
I grew up in Reno, Nevada, before my passion for baseball and journalism took me halfway across the country to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
After graduating, I completed an internship as an associate reporter for MLB.com, where I covered the San Diego Padres and the National League Division Series between the Nationals and Cubs.
During my time at OSU, I served in many roles for the O’Colly, the university’s independent student publication. After spending the fall semester as editor-in-chief, I served as social media editor and the head of our investigative team. I was also the paper’s sports editor and content director. I was previously a staff writer starting my freshman year, serving as a news reporter and covering baseball, football and men’s basketball during my time with the O’Colly.
Before my work this summer with MLB.com, I was a desk intern for The Dallas Morning News for the summer of 2016, editing copy, writing headlines and designing pages for the paper’s A section, metro section, business section and sports section, including in the wake of the July 7 police ambush. I spent the previous two summers as an intern in the sports departments of the Reno Gazette-Journal, covering local teams and athletes, and The Oklahoman, designing pages and editing copy.
My byline has also appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Kansas City Star, Tulsa World, Big 12 DieHards, Stillwater NewsPress and Mail (Oregon) Tribune.
